EPFL opens its doors!
This weekend, the EPFL opens its doors and inaugurates the ArtLab, a new building dedicated to relationship between sciences and art, designed by Kengo Kuma.
The public will have the opportunity to discover three of our new projects: “The Montreux Jazz Heritage Lab” (in the Montreux Jazz Café), “Into the Black” and “Colors in Black” (both related to the exhibition “Noir, c’est Noir?” proposing a dive into the work of Pierre Soulages)
Come and discover our work! We’re looking forward to share that with you!
Montreux Jazz Heritage Lab
A new way to delve into 50 years of live concerts at the Montreux Jazz Festival! The immersive installation resulting from a research programme at a crossroads between design, architecture and technology has left the EPFL+ECAL Lab to join the public Montreux Jazz Café on the EPFL campus.
Into the Black
Using virtual reality to create a bridge between exhibition's visitors, the artist and its art pieces: “Into the Black”, a new project ran by the EPFL+ECAL Lab for the exhibition “Noir, c’est Noir?” (from 11.05 to 04.23 at the ArtLab, on EPFL Campus)
Colors in the Black
The EPFL+ECAL Lab has used the Gamaya hyperspectral data from a Pierre Soulages painting to produce an interactive experimentation of light perception on Outrenoir. “Colors in Black” a new project ran by the EPFL+ECAL Lab for the exhibition “Noir, c’est Noir?” (from 11.05 to 04.23 at the ArtLab, on EPFL Campus)
