In Cashback, visitors simply place a Euro note of any denomination (or one of the fake notes provided for this purpose for the exhibition) on the installation’s glass to see the figures pictured on the note come to life in a surprisingly provocative way. The higher the value of the note, the greater the payoff in terms of content yielded. Cashback shows how one can alter the perception of an object by allowing it to express virtual content directly linked with its physical presence.
